Possibly the most interesting rumor I've heard recently, I was taken back enough that I had to do a double-check of the calendar date.
But to hear my source tell it, Apple is picking up on the Amazon model, and while they won't be porting any of their other apps to Android, don't want to see Amazon and Google become the default music services due to iTunes not being available in a player format that can still sync to iTunes on a Mac or PC.
While such a development makes a ton of sense, it's only slightly easier to believe than Apple working together with Adobe on a version of Flash for iOS (and no, I have heard nothing along those lines).
Supposedly some of the wrappers will come off this along with the iPhone announcement at WWDC in June. That would suggest that at least a Beta version must be floating around somewhere. Maybe Gizmodo will find a copy in a bar and let us know about it :-)
